Amazon Echo Show 5 (3rd Generation) Key Features And Specifications

The new-generation Amazon Echo Show 5 features a 5.5-inch screen. While the size remains unchanged, the screen features rounded corners, infinity glass protection, and improved viewing angles. In fact, Amazon also claims that the Echo Show now offers better visibility in low-light conditions. Under the hood, the device runs on the new, faster AZ2 Neural Edge processor.

While Amazon marketed the Echo Show 5 (2nd Generation) as a smart “speaker” with a 5.5-inch screen, it has shifted to using the term “smart display” for the latest generation device. Talking about the speaker, the new Show 5 features a 1.7-inch rear-facing speaker that delivers double the bass and produces clearer vocals.

With the large screen, users can quickly glance at weather updates, manage their smart home controls, or watch compatible security camera video feeds. The capable speaker, on the other hand, makes listening to music, podcasts, and audiobooks easier. You can also pair multiple Echo devices together for a synchronized playback experience across multiple rooms in your house.

Another key feature of the Amazon Echo Show 5 (3rd Generation) is hands-free access to Alexa. It allows you to display the calendar on the screen, set timers and reminders, add items to shopping lists, control compatible smart home devices such as air conditioners and fans, and perform other digital tasks, all via simple voice commands.

With an improved microphone array, the Echo Show 5 should be better at separating your voice commands from the background sounds. And for those wondering, the device does come with a dedicated camera shutter, a microphone deactivation button, and the option to delete voice recordings in the Alexa app.
