TL; DR
- The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 will feature a 4,400 mAh battery, just like the Z Fold6.
- The Z Flip7, on the other hand, will get a 300 mAh boost, making the battery 4,300 mAh.
- Samsung is also expected to launch an FE version of the Z Flip7, called the Z Flip7 FE.
- All the foldables and the Watch8 series will be unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked scheduled for July 9, at 7:30 PM.
Samsung’s foldables are getting thinner and lighter, but one thing that hasn’t changed is the battery on the Galaxy Z Fold7. Just like last year, the new Fold will pack a 4,400 mAh battery, as confirmed through its EPREL certification. And while this is the case with the Fold7; the Z Flip7, on the other hand, gets a boost to 4,300 mAh, up from 4,000 mAh on the Flip6.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7: What to Expect

Despite the unchanged battery size, Samsung is clearly pushing forward in other areas. The Fold7 is expected to be Samsung’s slimmest book-style foldable yet, measuring just 4.5mm when open and about 9mm when folded.
It’s also reportedly 11mm wider than the Z Fold6, giving the outer display more real estate—up to 6.5 inches, while the inner display stretches to 8.2 inches. That solves one of the biggest complaints about earlier Z Folds: a narrow, cramped cover screen.

The design refinements go further with slimmer bezels, a sleeker hinge, and possibly less crease on the inner screen. The device is also lighter, dropping down to 215g from the 239g Z Fold6. This will crown it the lightest book-style foldable ever.
Inside, you’ll find the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, likely paired with faster storage and improved thermals. The camera setup is rumored to finally get serious, with a 200 MP main sensor, plus a 12 MP ultra-wide and a 10 MP 3X telephoto lens. The under-display selfie camera is being replaced with a 10 MP punch hole camera.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7: A Bigger Battery and a New FE Variant

While the Fold7 remains stuck with 4,400 mAh, the clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip7 gets a small but notable bump. The Flip7 will come with a 4,300 mAh battery—up from 4,000 mAh on the Flip6. That’s confirmed by EPREL listings, which also mention up to 42 hours of single-charge usage.
The Flip7 retains a compact footprint (13.7mm folded, 6.5mm open) but now features a 6.9-inch inner screen and a larger 4.1-inch outer display.
Also new this year is the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE—Samsung’s first Fan Edition foldable. It is said to feature a 4,000 mAh battery (3,887 mAh rated), and bring the Flip experience to a lower price bracket. Both Flip models this year will feature an Exynos chipset.

What Else to Expect at Samsung Unpacked 2025
Samsung’s next Unpacked event is happening on July 9 at 7:30 PM IST, and it’s going to be packed. Alongside the Z Fold7, Z Flip7, and Flip7 FE, we’ll also see the debut of the Galaxy Watch8 series. That includes the Watch8, Watch8 Classic, and the Watch8 Ultra, all expected to come with new health sensors and new design.
The foldables will also ship with One UI 8 out of the box, based on Android 16. Features like Galaxy AI, image-to-video generation, and a better Flex Mode support are also expected to be part of the package.
