Samsung Pay becomes Samsung Wallet in India: Read on to know more

Samsung Pay, Samsung’s own mobile payment solution has now become Samsung Wallet in India. The Samsung Wallet app can store credit/debit cards, digital currency, digital keys, login passwords, and health/vaccine passes. It allows users to pay for things through mobile transactions via NFC and UPI (limited to the Indian market).

All the information in the app is secure via Samsung Knox, a defense-grade digital security solution. Samsung Wallet will be available as an upgrade to Samsung Pay via the Galaxy Store starting today. All smartphones running Samsung Pay can be upgraded to Samsung Wallet eventually.

Samsung has partnered with various national banks to make their credit and debit cards compatible with Samsung pay in India. The app only works with AMEX, Mastercard, and VISA cards in India. RuPay cards are not compatible with Samsung Pay but might be in the upcoming months.
