The iQOO 15 is shaping up to be a weird one, and that’s a good thing. Ahead of its launch in China next week, the company has confirmed its new gaming phone will feature a haptic motor and speaker system from Leedor, a Chinese brand better known for making parts for 3D printers and heavy machinery than for smartphones.

It’s an unusual partnership that signals iQOO is getting serious about making its phones feel different. The company says the iQOO 15 will use a new haptic motor called the Warhammer Max. It’s a dual-axis motor that provides vibrations along two axes (X and Z) to make in-game actions like gunfire recoil or explosions feel more realistic. iQOO is calling it “4D haptic feedback,” which is mostly a marketing term, but the underlying tech sounds promising for games like PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile.

The audio is getting a similar industrial-grade treatment. The phone will have a symmetrical speaker system with the equally intense name “War Drum Master Pro,” which iQOO claims will create a wider, more detailed soundstage for tracking things like enemy footsteps.

Of course, it’s not all about the rumble. The rest of the iQOO 15’s spec sheet looks just as impressive. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and iQOO’s own Q3 gaming chip to keep frame rates smooth.

The screen is a 2K OLED panel from Samsung with a 144Hz refresh rate and an absurdly high peak brightness of 6,000 nits for HDR content. It also features other flagship essentials, including wireless charging, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and a top-tier IP68/IP69 rating for water and dust resistance.
