TL; DR
  • The Galaxy S26 Ultra will get a 60W charging upgrade (up from 45W).
  • A new “S26 Pro” model might replace the S26 Plus.
  • There is no sign of a base or Plus model, probably replaced by Pro and Edge. Samsung will likely make the S26 FE the new base model.

Samsung appears to be reworking its flagship lineup for 2025, and we’re starting to get a clearer picture of what’s coming with the Galaxy S26 series. According to a recent tweet by reliable leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will bring multiple hardware upgrades, including an improved 3X telephoto camera, a faster main camera aperture, and faster charging speeds.

Backing this up, tipster @erenylmaz075 has uncovered firmware evidence from an early One UI 8.5 build, confirming that the S26 Ultra will finally jump to 60W fast charging, a long-awaited bump from the 45W cap on the current S25 Ultra. Despite the increase in charging speed, the battery is expected to remain at 5,000 mAh.

60W charging on the S26 Ultra

Interestingly, while the Ultra model is getting faster charging, the new Galaxy S26 Pro may stick to 45W, despite being a higher-tier model than the base variant it’s reportedly replacing. Internal One UI 8 firmware mentions three models, M1, M2, and M3, believed to correspond to the Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra respectively. Notably, there’s no trace of a standard S26 or S26+ in the firmware.

The camera department is also getting attention this year. Ice Universe reports that the S26 Ultra’s 3X zoom lens will be upgraded, and we’ll also see an improved aperture on the main sensor, which should translate to better light capture and improved depth of field.

Combine that with Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Elite chipset, also confirmed through firmware, and Samsung’s 2025 flagship is shaping up to be a decent refinement over its predecessor. While it’s still early, the pieces are beginning to fall into place for the Galaxy S26 series.
