TL; DR
  • boAt Nirvana Ion ANC offers 32dB noise cancellation under ₹2,000, making it ideal for commutes and study sessions.
  • The earbuds claim 120 hours of total battery life, with real-world usage estimated at 100–105 hours across mixed use.
  • LDAC support, dual EQ modes, quad mics, IPX4 rating, and 10mm drivers round out a compelling budget package.

A couple of days ago, my younger sister came to me, asking for a solid noise-canceling earbuds recommendation under ₹2,000. She was already using a pair of wired earbuds, but constant tangling annoyed her, and she wanted TWS earbuds for added convenience.

Based on her requirements of decent sound quality, long battery life, and, most importantly, ANC, and after a lot of research, I recommended her the boAt Nirvana Ion ANC. While the earbuds are readily available on Flipkart and Amazon, they should get price cuts during the Summer sales on the platforms as well, making the earbuds even more value for money, and she would be able to purchase them right in time for her competitive exam preparations, which begin right after her final semester ends in May 2026.

32dB ANC Is Good For Focussed Study Sessions And Peaceful Commute

A couple of years ago, active noise cancellation used to be reserved for premium earbuds. However, the boAt Nirvana Ion ANC brings up to 32 dB of ANC to the under ₹2,000 bracket. In practice, the earbuds can actually reduce commute noise and office chatter by a noticeable amount.

For the price, the Nirvana Ion ANC offers actually usable noise cancellation. For my sister, who often takes public transport to college and just wants to listen to lectures, podcasts, and her favorite Bollywood songs on the go, or sit in canteens or libraries to complete her assignments, the earbuds provide sufficient ANC. The boAt Nirvana ANC is definitely among the best ANC earbuds under ₹2,000.

120 Hours Of Battery Backup Means No Frequent Charging

This is something that made me stop mid-research and look it up twice. The boAt Nirvana Ion ANC claims to offer up to 24 hours of playback per charge, and a total of 120 hours when you factor in the charging case. Now, in practice, the claimed battery figures drop by around 10% from the claimed figures, something that is true even for the flagship earbuds that cost 10x the price we’re considering here.

  • Claimed: 24h earbuds / 96h case → 120h total
  • Observed (mixed use, ANC on): Earbuds last ~21–22h per charge
  • Case provides ~ 4 additional full charges~100–105h real-world total

However, even if you factor in the difference between lab testing and real-world use cases, the boAt Nirvana Ion ANC should last around 10 to 12 days on a single charge, if you’re using it for mixed usage (calls and media playback) for five to six hours every single day.

For someone who doesn’t obsess over the specifications and just wants a pair of TWS earbuds that work without constantly plugging them into the charger, the Nirvana Ion ANC is an excellent recommendation, making it one of the best battery life earbuds in the budget.

Different Sound Profiles For Different Use Cases

boAt has spent years tuning its earbuds for the Indian listeners: bass. The low-end on the earbuds is punchy and satisfying, the kind that makes Punjabi pop and EDM feel the way they’re supposed to: powerful and thumping. The earbuds also feature Crystal Bionic Sound powered by HiFi DSP, keeping vocals clear enough.

Buyers also get dual EQ modes: boAt Signature Sound (with bass-heavy tuning) and Balanced Sound (for listening to podcasts or vocal-centric content). Another plus point is that the earbuds support LDAC, a Bluetooth codec developed by Sony that transmits around three times more data than standard codecs, for times when you’re streaming high-quality music via streaming services.

Bottom Line

At under ₹2,000, the boAt Nirvana Ion ANC covers the three use cases that matter most: 32dB ANC for commutes and noisy study spaces, 120-hour battery for students and daily commuters who can’t afford frequent charging, and LDAC support for anyone streaming high-quality audio on the go.
