Nissan Gravite

It is a proper 7-seater MPV, but it’s quite flexible. You can actually remove the third-row seats entirely to turn it into a spacious 5-seater with a massive 625-liter boot, which is great for long family road trips with lots of luggage.

The manual version gives you an ARAI-certified mileage of 19.3 kmpl, while the AMT (which Nissan calls 'EZ-Shift') is slightly more efficient at 19.6 kmpl. In real-world city traffic, you can expect somewhere around 14-15 kmpl depending on how heavy your foot is.

They do share the same platform and engine, but Nissan has given the Gravite its own identity. It features a different front grille, unique C-shaped LED DRLs, and a fresh interior theme. It also comes with a few extra bells and whistles like a JBL sound system and a dashcam in the Launch Edition.

Currently, it only comes with a 1.0-liter petrol engine. However, Nissan has showcased a dual-cylinder CNG concept, and it's expected to hit the Indian market soon to help keep running costs low for high-mileage drivers.

Safety is a priority here; it comes with 6 airbags as standard across all variants, which is rare at this price point. You also get essential tech like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System to keep things stable on the road.

The Launch Edition is the fancy one, limited to just 1,001 units. It packs premium gear like an 8-inch touchscreen, ambient lighting, a built-in dashcam, and a high-end JBL audio system. It's basically the one to get if you want all the tech and comfort features right out of the box.

The 1.0-liter engine produces 72PS and 96Nm of torque. It’s perfect for city commutes and steady highway cruising, but if you’ve got all seven seats filled and the AC on full blast, you might find it needs a bit more effort to overtake on steep inclines.

Nissan is offering a standard 3-year/1,00,000 km warranty, which you can extend up to a huge 10 years. Even better, if you're among the first 5,000 buyers, you get zero service costs for the first five years, which is a massive win for your wallet.

The Gravite is smaller (under 4 meters) and much more affordable, making it a better pick for tight city parking and budget buyers. The Ertiga is a larger, more powerful vehicle, but the Gravite offers a more modern interior and better standard safety features for the price.
