The Chinese smartphone manufacturer vivo has launched the Y400 5G in India. It is available from a starting price of Rs. 21,999 for the baseline variant (8GB + 128GB). The handset offers features like a massive 6,000 mAh battery, 90W wired fast charging, official IP ratings for water and dust resistance, and a comprehensive AI suite.

The vivo Y400 5G will be available in India in two variants.

That’s the price for the vivo Y400 5G. The handset will go on sale from August 4, 2025. Interested buyers can purchase it from platforms like vivo’s official website, Flipkart, Amazon, and other retail partners.

Those who pre-book the handset can avail the following offers:

  • up to 10% cashback on SBI, DBS, IDFC First, Yes, Federal Bank, and Bank of Baroda cards
  • Bundle deal includes an offer on the vivo TWS 3e ANC; when purchased with the phone, the earbuds will cost Rs. 1,499
  • Access to 10 OTT platforms for two months (this particular offer is applicable on the Rs. 1,199 Jio Prepaid plan)

The handset is available in two colors: Glam White and Olive Green.

First and foremost, the vivo Y400 5G features a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED Dotch screen that can achieve a peak brightness of 1,800 nits and supports a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. Complementing the screen are a set of dual (stereo) speakers that can achieve 400% volume (although you shouldn’t use it very often in this mode).

Under the hood, the vivo Y400 5G runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (4nm) processor, which can handle your day-to-day tasks, but don’t expect anything extraordinary out, but don’t expect anything extraordinary out of it. Along with the processor, you get 8GB of physical RAM (LPDDR4X), 8GB of virtual RAM, and up to 256GB of storage (UFS 3.1).

The smartphone comes with vivo’s new AI Suite, which includes features like AI Transcript Assist, AI Note Assist, AI Documents, Screen Translation, Circle to Search, AI Superlink, and a dedicated Focus Mode for minimizing distractions.

Regarding optics, the vivo Y400 5G features a 50MP Sony IMX852 primary camera, along with a dedicated underwater photography mode, which lets you capture reels, selfies, and slow-mos beneath the surface using the physical buttons (instead of on-screen controls). Along with the primary camera, the phone gets a 2MP depth sensor.

On the front, you get a 32MP selfie camera. You also get features like Live Photo, AI Eraser
