vivo X200 FE vs. OnePlus 13s: Table of Contents

In the ever-evolving world of smartphones, selecting the right model can be a daunting task, especially when two formidable competitors present compelling propositions.

Last month, we saw the launch of the OnePlus 13s, a powerful yet compact flagship that features the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Now, vivo has jumped onto the bandwagon with its X200 FE, a smartphone that places a greater emphasis on its cameras than on performance.

This comparison puts the vivo X200 FE and the OnePlus 13s side by side, allowing you to make an informed decision. So, without any further ado, let’s get right into it.

Materials

Both phones feature an aluminum frame with glass on the front and back panels. While the X200 FE features Schott Xensation Core glass, the OnePlus 13s comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection (on the front). Based on the model you get, the OnePlus 13s offers a different finish on the back panel.

Design

Both the phones ship with a punch-hole screen in the front with minimal bezels on all sides (including the bottom chin). However, it is the back panel and the colors that create a stark difference between the two.

For instance, the X200 FE features a vertical, pill-shaped (blacked-out) camera module (protrudes a bit from the back panel), housing two sensors. Then there’s a third sensor to the right of the module, below which is the circular Aura Light (ring-shaped) for capturing pictures in low light.

The OnePlus 13s, on the other hand, features a square-shaped, protruding camera module on the back panel with rounded corners and a double camera setup (along with what appears to be a color spectrum sensor).

OnePlus has replaced the Alert Slider with the Plus Key, a programmable key that executes tasks such as opening the flashlight, translating text, and launching the camera app (similar to the Action Button on Apple’s iPhone).

vivo X200 FE vs. OnePlus 13s: Display

The vivo X200 FE sports a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with support for adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz), a local peak brightness of 5,000 nits, and a pixel density of 461 ppi. Additional features of the display include a 2,160Hz PWM and HDR10+ content.

The OnePlus 13s also boasts a 6.32-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with support for adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz), a local peak brightness of 4,500 nits (limited to 1,600 nits in the high-brightness mode), and a pixel density of 460 ppi. In addition, the display supports 2,160Hz PWM dimming, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+.

Both handsets have a similar screen-to-body ratio. Although the X200 FE and the OnePlus 13s feature a similar screen size, refresh rate, and brightness, it appears that the OnePlus 13s supports Dolby Vision content, whereas the X200 FE doesn’t.

vivo X200 FE vs. OnePlus 13s: Performance

Dimensity 9300+

Under the hood, the X200 FE sports the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ (4nm) processor, which comprises one 3.4GHz prime core, the Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage (not as fast as the UFS 4.0 storage found on other flagships).

For those wondering about the chipset’s benchmark performance, it scores around 2.07 million points on AnTuTu 10 and around 2,230/7,540 points on the GeekBench 6 single/multicore CPU test. If you wish to compare it with a Qualcomm chipset, the Dimensity 9300+ performs slightly better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Despite its compact form factor, the Dimensity 9300+ features a pretty powerful chipset. It can handle everything from heavy multitasking and demanding video games to 4K video editing, all on the go. It isn’t as powerful as the chipset on the OnePlus 13s (which we’ll talk about in a bit), but it offers more power than most users can possibly put to use.

Snapdragon 8 Elite

Unlike the X200 FE, the OnePlus 13s features the Snapdragon 8 Elite (3nm) SoC, which consists of two 4.32GHz prime cores, the Adreno 830 GPU, up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage (faster than UFS 3.1). In our time with the OnePlus 13s, the device scores 2.14 million points on the AnTuTu 10 and around 2,230/8,550 points on the GeekBench 6 single/multicore CPU test.

Furthermore, we could also achieve a stable 120 fps gameplay on BGMI, whereas Genshin Impact consistently ran at 60 fps. Moreover, the Snapdragon 8 Elite provides more processing power than the Dimensity 9300+. So, while you can perform heavy tasks on both smartphones, the OnePlus 13s could get them done faster than the Dimensity 9300+ on the vivo X200 FE.

vivo X200 FE vs. OnePlus 13s: Software

vivo equips the X200 FE with Funtouch OS 15, a custom user interface built on Android 15. Although it comes with pre-installed apps that you may need to uninstall, Funtouch OS also features several AI-based features, including Circle to Search, AI Eraser 2.0, Live Call Translation, and AI Transcript Assist.

With the compact flagship, vivo has promised to provide up to four major operating system updates and five years of security updates.

Out of the box, the OnePlus 13s runs on OxygenOS 15 (based on Android 15). The custom user interface offers a revamped Control Center, a Dynamic Island-like notification system, improved lock screen customization options, and other performance-related enhancements.

With the user interface, OnePlus provides multiple AI-based features, including Circle to Search, AI Notes, Magic Compose, AI Detail Boost, AI Unblur, AI Eraser, and Pass Scan. The manufacturer has promised to provide at least four years of Android updates and five years of security updates.

vivo X200 FE Camera Configuration

vivo X200 FE cameras
  • Primary Camera: 50MP (f/1.9, OIS)
  • Secondary Camera: 50MP (f/2.7, OIS) secondary camera paired with 3x optical zoom lens
  • Tertiary Camera: 8MP (f/2.2) ultrawide sensor
  • Front Camera: 50MP (f/2.0) selfie shooter with autofocus

The primary, secondary, and front cameras on the vivo X200 FE can record 4K60 videos. Additional camera-related features include later autofocus, Zeiss optics, Zeiss T lens coating, Portrait Video, Astro Photo, Micro Movie, etc.

OnePlus 13s Camera Configuration

OnePlus 13s camera system
  • Primary Camera: 50MP (f/1.8, OIS)
  • Secondary Camera: 50MP (f/2.0, EIS) sensor paired with 2x optical zoom lens
  • Tertiary Camera: NA
  • Front Camera: 32MP (f/2.0) with autofocus

Like the X200 FE, the OnePlus 13s can also record 4K videos at 60 fps. Additional features include dual-video mode and Snapshot Mode. While the rest of the configuration seems alright, it is the lack of optical image stabilization on the telephoto sensor that bugs me a little, and tilts the scales in favor of the X200 FE.

vivo X200 FE vs. OnePlus 13s: Battery

You’d think that a compact flagship like the X200 FE would come with a relatively smaller battery, right? However, the handset features a 6,500 mAh Si/C battery that supports 90W charging (from zero to 100% in around an hour). This is perhaps the biggest battery-to-size ratio we’ve ever seen on a contemporary smartphone, and kudos to vivo for achieving it.

The OnePlus 13s, with its 5,850 mAh battery, falls short of the X200 FE. It supports 80W wired charging and 5W reverse wired charging. Now, I’m not saying that the OnePlus 13s doesn’t perform well with its battery. In fact, during our review of the device, we noted that we achieved at least seven hours of screen-on time between charges, which is excellent.

However, the X200 FE has raised the bar even higher for compact flagships and what we should expect from them in terms of battery life.

vivo X200 FE vs. OnePlus 13s: Connectivity

Connectivity options on the vivo X200 FE include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.4, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, IR Blaster, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port.

The OnePlus 13s also provides support for 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v6.0 (2DP, LE, aptX HD, LHDC 5), dual-band GPS, GLONASS, NFC, IR Blaster, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port.

vivo X200 FE vs. OnePlus 13s: Price & Conclusion

vivo X200 FE Price

vivo X200 FE With Dimensity 9300+, 50MP 3x Periscope Camera, And A 6,500 mAh Battery Launched in India

The vivo X200 FE is an excellent compact flagship that ticks most of the right boxes. With a bright screen and a decently-powerful chipset, the handset also features a versatile camera system (with OIS for the secondary zoom lens) that provides the features (such as ZEISS-style portraits) that the more expensive vivo X200 does.

Apart from its camera, the X200’s main selling point is its 6,500 mAh battery, which should easily last for two days on a single charge (with light to moderate usage). If you’ve been a vivo user for some time and you already like the user interface the company offers, the X200 FE could be a solid upgrade from any entry-level or mid-range handset (provided that you’re okay with the small screen size).

While the X200 FE offers a better camera and battery, the OnePlus 13s comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which provides exceptional processing power. Further, the handset also features faster UFS 4.0 storage, which should help reduce app or file loading time. If you’ve been a OnePlus user in the past and appreciate the company’s hardware and software support, you can opt for the latest compact flagship.

And yes, the phone comes with a lifetime display warranty, so don’t worry about that either.
