TL; DR
  • The vivo X Fold5 (16GB + 512GB) is available in India for Rs. 1,49,999. While you can pre-order the foldable now, sales will commence on July 30, 2025.
  • The Fold5 is among the thinnest book-style foldables on the market. It measures 159.7 x 142.3 x 4.3 mm when unfolded and 159.7 x 72.6 x 9.2 mm, making it only slightly thicker than the newly-launched Galaxy Z Fold 7.
  • First up, the X Fold5 features a 6.53-inch LTPO AMOLED cover screen (413 ppi) that supports a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. On the inside, the foldable boasts an 8.03-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits.
  • Under the hood, the vivo X Fold5 sports the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (4nm) processor, which consists of a 3.3GHz primary core, the Adreno 750 FPU, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has launched its latest book-style foldable — the vivo X Fold5 — in India. Competing directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 (hands-on review), the X Fold5 sets a new benchmark in terms of battery size for foldable handsets. It features a massive 6,000 mAh dual-cell battery that charges almost as fast as modern brick-style smartphones.

Even otherwise, the foldable offers a massive screen (it’s almost like carrying a tablet in your pocket), a capable Snapdragon chipset, and a 50MP triple rear-facing camera setup. Check out more details about the foldable, including its price, availability, design, features, and specifications below.

In India, the vivo X Fold5 is available in just one finish: Titanium Gray. Further, the phone features an IPX9 rating for water resistance and an IP5X rating for dust resistance.

Both screens provide adaptive refresh rate (up to 120Hz, thanks to the LTPO panel). Further, they also support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision content. While the foldable display has a plastic covering, the cover screen features Armor Glass (2nd Generation) protection.

Under the hood, the vivo X Fold5 sports the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (4nm) processor, which consists of a 3.3GHz primary core, the Adreno 750 GPU, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Out of the box, the book-style foldable runs on FuntouchOS 15, which is based on Android 15.

Powering the vivo X Fold5 is a 6,000 mAh Si/C battery that supports 80W wired and 40W wireless charging (with support for reverse wired and 5W reverse wireless charging). It goes without saying, but the vivo X Fold5 currently has the largest battery on a book-style foldable available in India (which is a feat in itself).

Connectivity options on the Fold5 include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.4 (A2DP, LE, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless), dual-band GPS, GLONASS, NFC, IR Blaster, and a USB Type-C 3.2 OTG port (with support for DisplayPort).
