vivo has launched OriginOS 6 globally, officially retiring Funtouch OS and bringing its once China-exclusive software experience to users worldwide. The first devices shipping with OriginOS 6 are the vivo X300 series and iQOO 15, with the X300 series already launched in China on October 13. In India, the X300 lineup will debut with the new OS by late November or early December, followed by the iQOO 15 as the first iQOO device.

OriginOS 6 Key Features

The Origin Smooth Engine anchors the update, boosting app cold start speeds by 18.5%, stabilizing frame rates by 10.5%, and improving animation responsiveness by 35% with Dual Rendering and the new Origin Animation System (Spring, Blur Transition, Morphing, and One Shot effects). The Snap-Up Engine makes rapid app switching up to 16% faster across consecutive launches.

OriginOS also brings Origin Island (similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island), a persistent on-screen hub that lets you copy text to calls or calendar events (Copy & Go) or drag edits into apps (Drag & Go). OriginOS 6 also brings AI Retouch, Smart Call Assistant, DocMaster, AI Creation, AI Search and Google Gemini integration.

A new Private Space, accessible via a left swipe on the dock, secures sensitive data with dual-app instances for personal and business use.
