TL; DR
  • Trump Mobile’s monthly service plan is called “The 47 Plan,” as it represents Trump’s 47th and 45th terms as the president of the United States.
  • In addition to launching a telecommunication service, Trump Mobile has also announced a smartphone — the $499 Trump T1 Phone — which is currently available for pre-order (with a $100 deposit).
  • The Trump T1 Phone features a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen (that likely supports 120Hz refresh rate), runs on the Android 15 operating system out of the box, features 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage (expandable with a microSDXC card).
  • Moreover, the Trump T1 Phone could surely make its way through the supporters of the United States President, but it might have a hard time competing with other $500 Android smartphones on the market.

The Trump Organization, headed by Eric Trump (the son of United States President Donald Trump), has announced its entry into the telecommunications industry with the launch of Trump Mobile, a Mobile Virtual Network Operator. To provide a mobile network, the venture has partnered with the three major communication giants, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, in a primarily licensing agreement.

Trump Mobile’s Monthly Subscription Plan Costs $47.45

Trump Mobile plan explained

Trump Mobile’s monthly service plan is called “The 47 Plan,” as it represents Trump’s 47th and 45th terms as the president of the United States.

The plan promises unlimited calls (including international calls to over 100 countries), texts, data, complimentary roadside assistance (via Drive America), telehealth services (via Doctegrity), device protection (via Omega Mobile Care), and a local customer service call center.

Per Trump Mobile, mobile network service should be compatible with most existing smartphones. Further, The 47 Plan doesn’t require any long-term contract or credit check, which could appeal to some users.

However, the $47.45 monthly plan seems a bit more expensive than Verizon’s Visible plan, which offers unlimited calls, texts, data, and hotspot connection for $25 per month. Similarly, Mint Mobile’s most affordable unlimited plan costs subscribers $30 per month.

X (formerly known as Twitter) user @dan_tmt writes in a post that Trump Mobile is already live, i.e., customers in the United States can “move over immediately to the service” with no difference in the coverage. However, he also mentions that the unlimited data is capped at 20 GB.

The Trump Mobile T1 Phone Costs $499, Will Be Available Later This Year

Trump T1 Phone

In addition to launching a telecommunication service, Trump Mobile has also announced a smartphone — the $499 Trump T1 Phone — which is currently available for pre-order (with a $100 deposit) and will be released in September 2025 (as mentioned on the website).

The T1 Phone appears to have a gold-colored back panel, featuring a triple-camera setup similar to that on the Pro iPhones (despite criticizing Apple for its global manufacturing setup), a gigantic “T1” engraving in the center, and the American flag at the bottom.

Although the design isn’t subtle or minimal, it could still appeal to his fans and supporters, especially along with the “Make America Great Again” slogan.

Apart from the design, the Trump T1 Phone features a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen (that likely supports 120Hz refresh rate), runs on the Android 15 operating system out of the box, features 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage (expandable with a microSDXC card), and has a 50MP primary camera (with a macro and a depth sensor).

On the front, the phone seems to have a 16MP selfie shooter. Powering the handset is a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 20W wired charging. In addition, the phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor, AI Face Unlock, a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Trump T1 Phone Competes Directly With Pixel 9a And Galaxy A36 5G

At $499, the Trump T1 Phone has to compete directly with the Pixel 9a (review). Google’s latest budget offering, the Pixel 9a, offers seven years of software support, a 6.3-inch 120Hz OLED screen, the AI-capable Tensor G4 SoC, and a fantastic dual-camera system with a 48MP primary camera and a 13MP ultrawide camera. Further, the Pixel handset is the first to receive the new operating system updates.

Then there’s the $475 Samsung Galaxy A36 5G (review), which offers a larger 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, ships with Android 15 out of the box (with up to six major operating system updates), has a triple-camera setup headlined with a 50MP primary sensor, and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging.

Moreover, the Trump T1 Phone could surely make its way through the supporters of the United States President, but it might have a hard time competing with other $500 Android smartphones on the market.

“Trump Mobile, its products and services are not designed, developed, manufactured, distributed or sold by The Trump Organization or any of their respective affiliates or principals,” mentions the official website.
