Synology PAS7700 Key Features And Availability

Synology PAS7700 Key Features And Availability

The PAS7700 is a powerful storage system from Synology for enterprises or businesses. It helps them host their data in a single unit (like a huge computer server) that contains two active-active controllers, ensuring that it keeps running smoothly even if one of the controllers stops working.

With a 4U rack-mounted structure, the device has space for 48 NVMe SSDs (or ultra-fast storage devices that provide quick access to stored information). The PAS7700 is scalable with up to seven additional units. Therefore, it can reach a massive capacity of 1.65 petabytes or 1,650 terabytes of storage.

Besides exceptional capacity, the storage device supports various ways to store and access data, including NVMe-oF for fast data transfer. Built for speed, the device supports a memory of up to 2,048GB and high-speed 1000 GbE networking. The device can handle heavy workloads, delivering super-fast response times (millisecond-grade low latency), up to two million IOPS (input/output operations per second), and 30GB/s data transfer speed.

Last but not least, the device also includes built-in protection protocols, like immutable snapshots, replication, and options for off-site backups. The Synology PAS7700 will be released in the second half of 2025.

Synology C2 Surveillance: A New Cloud-Based Video Surveillance Service

Synology C2 Surveillance: A New Cloud-Based Video Surveillance Service

Designed for businesses with multiple locations, the C2 Surveillance is a cloud-based surveillance system that doesn’t require a physical server, is easy to deploy, and provides non-disruptive cloud monitoring. First and foremost, the device can be set up in minutes, even on a mobile device, without the requirement for special training.

While adding cameras is simple, the C2 Surveillance doesn’t require additional license fees. The service ensures uninterrupted recording even in the event of network disruptions. All the recordings are stored on microSD cards, with an option to back up to the C2 Cloud for additional protection. The service also supports a fallback offline mode, allowing local monitoring.

For safeguarding sensitive footage, the C2 Surveillance system includes AES-128 encryption and multi-factor authentication. Along with the ease of operation and scalability, the service will be available later this year.
