Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Specs surface online
Tipster @SiddhantGeek on X has shared details about a prototype of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which retains a dual-telephoto configuration, albeit with altered focal lengths. The previous 3x telephoto sensor has been upgraded to a 3.5x variant. Additionally, the device features a larger 50MP sensor, measuring 1/3.15 inches with a pixel size of 0.56um. In comparison, the existing 10MP sensor measures 1/3.52 inches and has a pixel size of 1.12 μm.
Despite the smaller native pixel size of the 50MP sensor, it employs 4-1 pixel binning to capture images at 12.5MP, compensating for the reduced pixel size. This higher resolution not only results in sharper images but also enables the phone to record in 8K using the 3.5x telephoto lens. The periscope telephoto lens has been upgraded to offer 8x magnification, an improvement from the previous 5x. While the new sensor maintains a 50MP resolution, it is slightly smaller at ½.76-inch.
The combination of a larger sensor and an extended zoom range would typically increase the camera module’s protrusion; however, the smaller sensor helps mitigate this effect while preserving the zoom capabilities. The ultrawide sensor remains unchanged from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, while the main sensor features a variable aperture mechanism ranging from F/1.4 to F/4.0.

Another user on X, known as @Vhss_God, has reported that Samsung is currently testing the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which features three rear cameras. The prototype includes a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 200MP telephoto sensor with 4x optical zoom. It appears that the company may forgo two telephoto sensors in its 2026 flagship model and reintroduce a variable aperture for the main sensor. Additionally, the prototype is rumored to come with a new S-Pen that supports Bluetooth connectivity and is equipped with a battery exceeding 5000mAh.
Furthermore, Samsung is said to be evaluating an under-display camera (UDC) for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is expected to be the brand’s first bar-type smartphone to utilize the latest Color Filter on Encapsulation technology, aimed at reducing power consumption and enhancing light transmittance. This device will be powered by Qualcomm’s next flagship chipset.
