Samsung Galaxy M16 vs. realme P3x vs. vivo T3x: Design

Realme P3x design

The Galaxy M16 5G features a water-drop notch at the front with symmetrical bezels on three sides and a thick bezel at the bottom. On the back, the smartphone has a pill-shaped camera module arranged vertically. While the fingerprint scanner (built into the power button) and the volume rockers are on the right frame, the SIM tray is on the left.

The realme P3x has a punch-hole screen at the front with a relatively thinner bezel at the bottom. On the back, the phone has a larger camera module (rectangular) with two sensors. The placement of the fingerprint scanner (built into the power button), volume rockers, and the SIM tray remain the same.

The vivo T3x also has a punch-hole screen with symmetrical bezels on three sides and a thicker chin at the bottom. The textured back panel houses a circular, blacked-out camera module. Regarding the arrangement of buttons, they remain the same. All three phones house a USB-C port and the primary speaker grill at the bottom.

Of the three phones, the realme P3x feels the most premium in hand, thanks to its aluminum frame. However, design is subjective, so we’ll leave that up to you.

Samsung Galaxy M16 vs. realme P3x vs. vivo T3x: Display

Samsung Galaxy M16 5G display

The Galaxy M16 5G ships with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen that supports a 90Hz refresh rate and has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels (385 ppi). In high brightness mode, the screen can shine as bright as 800 nits.

The realme P3x has a 6.72-inch IPS LCD screen that supports up to 120Hz refresh rate and has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (392 ppi). As mentioned on the official website, the screen can achieve a peak brightness of 950 nits. It is important to mention that the smartphone has a 200% super volume mode.

The vivo T3x also features a 6.72-inch IPS LCD screen that supports up to 120Hz refresh rate and has a resolution of 2408 x 1080 pixels (393 ppi). Out of the three phones, the T3x has the highest peak brightness of 1,000 nits.

Generally, Super AMOLED displays are better at producing deep blacks and vibrant colors, and hence, the Galaxy M16 5G should provide a slightly better visual experience than the other phones. On the other hand, the vivo T3x has a slightly higher peak brightness.

On the popular benchmarking platform GeekBench 6, the chipset scores around 780/1,980 points in the single/multi-core CPU performance score.

The realme P3x runs on the Dimensity 6400 (6nm) SoC, which sports two 2.5GHz performance scores, six 2GHz efficient cores, and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Further, the phone is available with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. On GeekBench 6, the chipset scores around 800/2,150 points in the single/multi-core CPU performance test.

Last but not least, the vivo T3x is the only handset in this comparison with a Qualcomm chipset, i.e., the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 (4nm) SoC. It has four 2.2GHz performance cores and four 1.8GHz efficient cores, along with the Adreno 710 GPU. The chipset runs alongside up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. On GeekBench 6, the chipset scores around 940/2,740 points in the single/multi-core CPU performance test.

Although all the phones lie in the same performance bracket, the vivo T3x should provide slightly better performance than the other two.

Samsung Galaxy M16 vs. realme P3x vs. vivo T3x: Software

Out of the box, the Galaxy M16 5G runs on One UI 7 based on Android 15. The company has promised to provide six years of operating system upgrades, along with six years of security patches. This makes the affordable Samsung handset stand out in the segment, as no other manufacturer provides similar software support.

The realme P3x runs on realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15. Unlike Samsung, the Chinese manufacturer only promises two years of operating system updates and three years of security updates.

The vivo T3x runs on the Funtouch OS 14, which is based on Android 14 (the only phone in the list to ship with an older Android version). Like the realme P3x, the vivo T3x will also get two years of operating system updates and three years of security patches.

Clearly, Samsung wins in the software support department, with no competitor coming close.

Samsung Galaxy M16 vs. realme P3s vs. vivo T3x: Cameras

triple camera on the Galaxy M16 5G

To click pictures, the Galaxy M16 gets a triple camera setup on its back. The company includes a 50MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, a 5MP (f/2.2) ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP (f/2.4) macro sensor. On the front, the smartphone gets a 13MP (f/2.0) selfie shooter. All the sensors can record videos in 1080p quality at 30 fps.

The realme P3x features a dual-camera setup, including a 50MP (f/1.8) primary sensor and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. On the front, the handset gets an 8MP selfie camera. Like the Samsung, the realme can also record videos in 1080p quality at 30 fps.

The vivo T3x has a 50MP (f/1.8) primary camera and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth camera (the setup is similar to that on the realme P3x). On the front, the handset has an 8MP (f/2.1) selfie camera. Last but not least, the primary camera can record 4K videos at 30fps (8GB RAM version only), which makes it the only phone to record at a higher resolution in comparison.

Given that the Samsung handset is the only one with a triple-camera setup, it should help you click pictures in more perspectives than the other two phones.

If you want a superior screen, an ultrawide camera (in addition to the primary sensor), and the most 5G bands in the segment, go with the Galaxy M16 5G. Samsung also provides the best software support of the three smartphones.

On the other hand, if you want a premium built, improved performance, and an excellent battery life (with faster charging speeds), get the realme P3x. Further, it is the only smartphone that can withstand high pressure water jets, thanks to its IP69 rating. Last but not least, it is MIL-STD-810H compliant.

However, if performance is a priority, the vivo T3x provides the best CPU and GPU combination of the three smartphones.
