TL;DR
  • Qualcomm will launch the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC in April.

Qualcomm, a prominent chipset manufacturer, is preparing to introduce the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC next month, following the release of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in 2024. Snapdragon 8s Gen 4: Expected features

The chipset has the model number SN8735 and reliable tipster Digital Chat Station claims that it will have a 1+3+2+2 core setup, which means it will ditch the fancy 2+6 Oryon cores found in flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. In terms of graphics, the upcoming SoC might pack an Adreno 825 GPU belonging to the same generation as the Adreno 830 seen in Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The upcoming chipset from Qualcomm will have fewer cores, 6MB SLC, and 8MB L3 Cache. Despite featuring fewer cores, it is expected to cross 2 million points in the AnTuTu test because it will be a powerful chipset nevertheless.

The chipset is expected to feature a single 3.21GHz Cortex-X4 Prime Core. Additionally, it will include three 3.01GHz Cortex-A720 cores and two 2.80GHz Cortex-A720 Performance cores to handle demanding tasks. For efficiency, it is anticipated to incorporate two 2.02GHz Cortex-A720 cores to ensure smooth operation.

Reports claim that the upcoming iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro and Redmi Turbo 4 Pro will be one of the first smartphones to be powered by this chipset. Since the chipset is releasing in April, the devices will also go official sometime around the chipset launch. In India, this chipset might be a part of Poco F7 (a rebrand of Redmi Turbo 4 Pro) which will launch later in April.

Since there are still a few weeks for the chipset to go official, this is all the information we have about the SoC. However, we hope to hear more about it very soon. So stay tuned to this space for more updates.
