  • The company has included a functional crown on the Watch 3, which can be used to scroll through the interface.
  • Under the hood, the OnePlus Watch 3 runs on the Snapdragon W5 chipset, along with a BES 2800BP co-processor.

The Chinese consumer tech giant OnePlus has launched a new smartwatch. Dubbed the OnePlus Watch 3, the wearable device runs on Wear OS 5 and offers plenty of health tracking features (like the flagship smartwatches). Available in one size (46mm) and two colors (Emerald Titanium and Obsidian Titanium), the smartwatch complies with military-grade durability standards. Check out more details about the OnePlus Watch 3 below.

OnePlus Watch 3 Specifications And Features

Design And Display

Out of the box, the OnePlus Watch 3 (46mm) has a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED screen that supports up to 2200 nits of peak brightness, which should significantly boost outdoor visibility (yes, it only comes in one size, unlike other flagship smartwatches from Samsung or Google). On top of the screen is a scratch-resistant 2.5D sapphire glass sheet.

Interestingly, the display’s bezels are made of titanium. If you’ve heard of it before, that’s because the iPhone 16 Pro models and the Galaxy S25 Ultra feature a titanium frame. Anyway, coming back to the watch, its bezels have alternate markings of numbers depicting the minutes. The chassis, on the other hand, is still made of stainless steel.

This year, the company has included a functional crown on the Watch 3, which can be used to scroll through the interface. Further, the crown also supports single and double-tap controls. While the former opens the app list when on the watch face (or goes back to the previous menu from other screens), the latter opens the recent apps tray. You can also hold the crown to invoke the Google Assistant.

OnePlus has spent some money on durability-related certifications. The smartwatch comes with a MIL-STD-810H certification, a 5ATM water resistance rating, and an official IP68 dust and water resistance rating.

Processor And Storage

OnePlus Watch 3

Under the hood, the OnePlus Watch 3 runs on the Snapdragon W5 chipset, along with a BES 2800BP co-processor. Although the company hasn’t specified the device’s memory, it has confirmed 32GB of storage. Together, the chipset and the co-processor process the data from the sensors on the smartwatch, the list of which is given below.

  • Wrist temperature sensor
  • Optical heart rate sensor
  • Optical pulse oximeter sensor
  • Geomagnetic sensor
  • Light sensor
  • Barometer
  • Accelerometer
  • Gyroscope

The OnePlus Watch 3 comes with many more health-tracking features as well, including 60S Health Check-In, vascular health (arterial stiffness) notifications, sleep monitoring, wrist temperature tracking, heart rate monitoring, SpO2 tracking, and others like Health Insights and Health Journey. Regarding workouts, the watch can detect over 100 types of exercises and physical activities.

In March, the company will release a feature that unlocks a comprehensive health checkup (by placing the finger on the lower button for 60 seconds), which will show several insights like users’ ECG, blood oxygen level, mental wellness levels, etc.

OnePlus Watch 3 Runs On Wear OS 5

OnePlus Watch 3

Given that the watch runs on Google’s Wear OS 5, it allows users to download and install several apps from the Play Store. It goes without saying that the watch is only compatible with Android phones, including those from OnePlus, Samsung, Google, and other manufacturers. However, it is only when paired with OnePlus phones that the watch provides a video playback control for the smartphone and the remote shutter functionality.

Connectivity Options And Battery Life

Connectivity options on the smartwatch include Wi-Fi 5G/2.5G, Bluetooth v5.3, dual-band GPS (L1+L5), and NFC. So, if someone was hoping that OnePlus would provide cellular connectivity on the smartwatch, 2025 is not the year that’s happening.

Regarding battery life, the watch features a 631 mAh battery that lasts for up to five days in the smart mode and up to three days with heavy usage, which is more than what the latest Galaxy Watch and the Apple Watch offer. While the watch supports fast charging (a day’s worth of battery in 10 minutes), it can take around 50 minutes for a complete charge.
