Just as OnePlus gears up for the OnePlus 15 launch, a new leak hints that the company isn’t stopping there. According to Digital Chat Station, OnePlus is developing a new Turbo lineup, and the first model sounds built for gaming. It’s rumored to pack a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and a 7,650mAh battery, signaling the company’s entry into the high-performance, gaming-centric phone space.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is Qualcomm’s next-generation non-elite Gen 5 chip, featuring a 3.8GHz prime core and a next-gen Adreno GPU. OnePlus has already confirmed it’ll be the first brand to launch a phone with this chipset, and since the OnePlus 15 uses the Elite version, the Turbo might be the one to debut the full-fat variant.

That massive battery also tells a story. The OnePlus 15 is expected to feature a 7,300mAh cell, while the Ace 6 pushes slightly higher at 7,800mAh placing the Turbo right in between. That makes sense for a device tuned for performance longevity, where cooling and sustained frame rates matter more than luxury polish.

If true, the OnePlus Turbo could mark the brand’s first step into dedicated gaming territory, a move that puts it up against ASUS ROG and RedMagic phones. It might also be OnePlus’s way to test next-gen cooling, AI-enhanced gaming modes, and performance-tuned software before bringing them to mainstream flagships. For now, the Turbo remains a codename, but leaks suggest a late 2025 China debut.
