TL; DR
  • The Lumio Arc 5 costs Rs. 19,999. It will be available on Amazon in the last week of July.
  • The Lumio Arc 7 costs Rs. 34,999. It will be available at an introductory price of Rs. 29,999 during the Amazon Prime Days sale between July 12 and 14.
  • Both Lumio’s home projectors come with the Arclight Engine, which delivers FHD (1080p) with support for HDR10, providing vibrant colors and sharp details.
  • The company also mentions how the Arclight Engine is fully sealed (to prevent the ingress of dust, which degrades the projection quality) and precision-aligned.

Roughly three months after releasing its smart TVs in the Indian market, the indigenous consumer appliance brand Lumio is back with two new products: the Vision Arc 5 and Vision Arc 7 home projectors. The devices aim to address the gap in the Indian projector market, particularly in the mid-range section (from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 50,000), where options are scarce.

As someone who purchased a mid-range projector last year, I’d second the brand’s claim about the unavailability of good-quality, reliable options in the segment. The Lumio Vision Arc 5 and Vision Arc 7 rectify issues such as poor OTT app compatibility, subpar audio, and unreliable after-sales service (something I’ve experienced firsthand).

Lumio Arc 5 & Arc 7 Features

Both Lumio’s home projectors come with the Arclight Engine, which delivers FHD (1080p) resolution with support for HDR10, providing vibrant colors and sharp details. The company also mentions how the Arclight Engine is fully sealed (to prevent the ingress of dust, which degrades the projection quality) and precision-aligned.

  • The Arclight Engine features an LCD display illuminated by a long-life LED light source.
  • Smooth Trapezoidal recalibration (STR8) for auto-keystone correction, obstacle avoidance, and instant autofocus, utilizing a time-of-flight sensor.
  • MediaTek 9630 processor, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. They run on the Google TV operating system.
  • Optimized airflow and minimal moving parts for quiet operation.
  • They also get an under-stand for elevated projection.
  • Connectivity: HDMI 2.0 (ARC-enabled), USB 2.0, Bluetooth v5.1, Wi-Fi 5 (dual-band), and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Like the Lumio smart TVs, the Lumio Arc projectors also feature the TLDR app that delivers a dashboard for updates related to sports and music. TLDR Sports offers live match updates, while TLDR Music streamlines music discovery with curated playlists and trending releases.

Lumio Arc 5 Specifications

Out of the box, the Lumio Arc 5 offers 200 ANSI lumens of brightness, providing vibrant visuals in dimly lit environments (not suitable for daytime use, especially in rooms with windows or skylights).

The projector offers up to 100-inch projection, features 5W speakers with dual passive radiators for extra bass (with support for Dolby Audio), and is Google TV and Netflix certified (implying that these apps will operate well on the projector).

Last but not least, the device weighs 1.33 kilograms, making it ideal for make-shift movie nights or carrying along in a luggage bag.

Lumio Arc 7 Specifications

Unlike the Arc 5, the Lumio Arc 7 provides 400 ANSI lumens of peak brightness, even in rooms with ambient light.

While the maximum projection size remains similar (up to 100 inches), this particular model features two 8W stereo speakers with a larger passive radiator for room-filling sound (with support for Dolby Audio).

Buyers can set up this projector in living rooms or big bedrooms for an experience.
