Kia Syros vs. Skoda Kylaq: Takeaways

  • Although both the Kia Syros and the Skoda Kylaq measure 3,995 mm in length, the Syros is significantly wider (22 mm) and taller (61 mm) than the Kylaq. This should result in a more comfortable cabin that accommodates three people in the back seat and has plenty of headroom for tall people.
  • The Syros also managed to carve out 19 liters of additional boot space.
  • Both the Syros and Kylaq offer similar ground clearance.
  • When it comes to engine options, the Kia Syros comes with turbocharged petrol and diesel engines combined with a total of four transmission options.
    • While the manual transmission with both engines has a six-speed gearbox, the petrol automatic features a dual-clutch transmission, and the diesel automatic features a torque converter unit.
  • On the other hand, the Skoda Kylaq offers one turbocharged petrol engine with similar power figures mated with two transmissions.
    • The manual variant comes with a six-speed transmission, while the automatic unit has a six-speed torque converter.
  • With the manual petrol version, the Skoda Kylaq seems to offer more mileage (19.68 kmpl vs 18.2 kmpl). However, the diesel manual variant of the Kia Syros could be an ideal highway cruiser for people who need more running.
  • Both cars offer a 45-liter fuel tank and six airbags from the base variant.
  • Regarding wheel size, the Syros offers slightly smaller 15-inch rims on its base variant, while the 16-inch and 17-inch wheels on the upper trims should provide a better grip. In comparison, the Skoda Kylaq provides 16-inch rims on the baseline variants, while the top variant gets 17-inch rims.
