Kia Sryos HTK (O) vs. Sonet HTK (O): Takeaways

  • While the Syros and Sonet are sub-4 meter SUVs, the former is 15mm wider and 39mm taller than the latter. As a result, Syros should provide more shoulder room for accommodating three people, along with increased headroom for tall passengers.
  • Kia Syros has a longer wheelbase than the Sonet, which should make the ride more stable.
  • Although the higher variants of the Syros have adjustable rear seats that increase the boot space, the HTK (O) variant has 390 liters of boot space, which is almost equal to that of the Sonet.
  • Surprisingly, the Sonet has a significantly higher ground clearance (210mm vs. 190mm).
  • Both the cars come with a turbo petrol engine, which is paired with a six-speed manual transmission on the Syros and a six-speed clutchless manual transmission on the Sonet. That should be a major differentiator between the two cars.
  • On the inside, the Syros offers a larger 12.3-inch infotainment system and a new double D-Cut steering wheel. However, other features like the instrument cluster, 4 + 2 speaker system, and manual driver seat adjustment are the same.
  • While the Sonet HTK (O) comes with a fully automatic climate control system, the Syros HTK (O) offers a manual air conditioner.
  • Both vehicles have electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators. However, the Syros offers flush door handles.
  • Although the cars offer a single-pane sunroof, the Sonet comes with a rear defogger, wiper, and washer.
  • Further, the Sonet offers larger alloy wheels.

Moreover, it is the spacious interiors and the manual transmission that tip the scale in the favor of the Kia Syros HTK (O). On the other hand, the Sonet offers a higher ground clearance and automatic climate control for those who are looking for the features.
