JSW MG Motor India Reveals Future Plans, Unveils Cyberster Two-Door Performance EV for Indian Market

In a significant development for the Indian automotive market, MG Motor India, under the new entity ‘JSW MG Motor India,’ announced its ambitious future strategies today. The joint venture, formed by SAIC, MG Motor India’s parent company, and JSW Group in late 2023, revealed plans not only for the introduction of plug-in hybrids but also for the launch of a new model every three to four months, commencing in September 2024.

MG Cyberster EV

Alongside outlining its forthcoming initiatives, MG unveiled the Cyberster EV, a sleek two-door performance vehicle, adding a futuristic dimension to its lineup. A key announcement from MG was its commitment to roll out a new model every three to four months, beginning September 2024. These vehicles will be produced in India with a strong emphasis on localisation, aimed at offering competitive pricing in the market.

In addition, MG has reinforced its commitment to advancing cleaner mobility. The company revealed plans to introduce plug-in hybrid vehicles in the future. While specifics about the models or timing were not provided, it’s worth mentioning that models like the Hector already offer a robust hybrid option in Indonesia.

MG Motor India revealed its future plans and also surprised everyone by introducing the Cyberster performance EV. The Cyberster has a sporty design, scissor doors, and a luxurious cabin. MG Motor India’s lineup consists of the Comet EV, Astor compact SUV, Hector and Hector Plus midsize SUVs, ZS EV, and Gloster full-size SUV. Recently, MG reduced prices for the Comet EV and Hector models. Additionally, the Gloster facelift has been seen undergoing tests in India. Furthermore, MG has introduced a new variant for the ZS EV, making the panoramic sunroof more affordable.
