With its last flagship, iQOO 12 (review), the Chinese smartphone brand iQOO turned a lot of heads in the Indian subcontinent. While the phone featured best-in-class hardware, its unique selling proposition was its price. In 2023, iQOO 12 was the country’s most affordable Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 smartphone.
As we move closer to the iQOO 13’s launch, we expect the upcoming flagship to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor. Here’s everything we know about the iQOO 13, including its Indian release date, expected specifications, and price.

iQOO 13 Release Date (Exclusive)

Like every year, the company will first unveil the flagship in China, following which, it will arrive in the global markets, including India. Since the Snapdragon Summit is scheduled for October 21 to 23, and Xiaomi has lined up the Xiaomi 15 launch immediately after that, iQOO might reveal the iQOO 13 in China at the end of October or early November.
According to our trusted partner Yogesh Brar, iQOO 13 will debut in India on December 5, 2024. As mentioned in our best Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphones list, a December launch will make the iQOO 13 the first smartphone to arrive with Qualcomm’s latest chipset in India.
iQoo 13 Key Features And Specifications (Expected)
Display

With its flagship series, iQOO aims to provide users with top-tier hardware and software, and that is exactly what one should expect from the iQOO 13. We already know that the flagship sports a 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED screen with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. The phone is said to feature “BOE’s latest generation” screen, characterized by improved global peak brightness and power consumption.
Processor
Under the hood, the iQOO 13 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC (and a Supercomputing Q2 chip), which rivals other flagship chipsets like the A18 Pro and the recently-launched Dimensity 9400 SoC. With a power processor, the phone will sport up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Since we’ve seen two Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset versions on certification sites, we’re curious to see which version the brand goes with.

Cameras
Regarding optics, you can expect the iQOO 13 to feature a similar camera setup as the iQOO 12. We’re talking about a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary camera, a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP Sony IMX826 telephoto sensor for 2x optical zoom. While the primary looks like an upgrade, the telephoto sensor’s zoom range is slightly less than that of the iQOO 12’s zoom sensor. On the front, users will get a 32MP shooter for clicking selfies.
Battery & Charging Rate

Multiple reports claim that the iQOO 13 could sport a 6,100 mAh battery that supports 100W wired charging. While we aren’t sure about the battery capacity at the moment, we expect the phone to feature a bigger-than-usual battery, as rumors about the power-hungry nature of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset have also been doing rounds on the internet.
New Halo Light
Another notable addition to the smartphone is the RGB light strip around the camera module, recently seen in an image on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. Although it’s not uncommon for smartphones to feature RGB light elements (mostly seen on gaming smartphones), the “Halo Light” could be a nifty little addition that attracts buyers toward the upcoming smartphone.

Will The iQOO 13 Be More Expensive Than The iQOO 12?

Last year, the iQOO 12 came out at Rs. 52,999 for the variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Another variant, with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, was priced at Rs. 57,999. However, the company also offered an instant cashback of Rs. 3,000.
This year, we expect the iQOO 13 to be slightly expensive, as it will feature the latest Snapdragon processor and display technology. The prices for both models could go up by a few thousand rupees. As a result, the base variant with 256GB could cost around Rs. 55,000, while the top variant with 512GB of storage could cost around Rs. 60,000.
Even so, the phone could be the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered smartphone in India.
