After a long while, a homegrown startup has entered the Indian home appliances industry with a strong focus and new approach toward smart TVs. Circuit House Technologies’ Lumio Will Focus On 4K Smart TVs
The brand will initially focus on 4K smart TVs with a screen size of 43 inches and above, a segment that is dominated by brands like Xiaomi, Samsung, LG, Sony, and a couple of other players. Later, it will foray into other categories in the home entertainment segment (possibly home theater systems to compliment their smart TVs or other consumer-durable goods).
Although we don’t know about the exact specifications or features of Lumio’s smart TVs, we know that the brand has partnered with Alphabet-owned Google, suggesting that it could use Google TV OS on its products. Further, Lumio will sell its smart TVs via the popular e-commerce platform Amazon.

Lumio Will Launch Its First Products In March 2025
In 2024, Circuit House Technologies raised a total of $4.3 million (around Rs. 36 crores in 2025), an amount that the company claimed was sufficient for pre-sales operations. Now, with the announcement of its brand Lumio, it aims to enter the Indian market and start selling its smart TVs in March 2025.
Over the last few years, we’ve seen the consumer shift from entry-level products to premium ones that offer more features, use better materials, and have a relatively longer life. While this trend is quite evident in the smartphone industry, it is also being observed in the smart TV market.
Lumio will leverage the shift from entry-level FHD smart TVs to 4K smart TVs. However, we’re more curious to see the price at which the company debuts its products. One can already get a 43-inch 4K smart TV for around Rs. 20,000. Known brands like Xioami also sell 43-inch 4K Google TVs for around Rs. 25,000, while LG, Samsung, and Sony are a bit more expensive.

In the grand scheme of the smart TV market, 4K resolution alone isn’t a premium selling point anymore. Further, a television’s overall visual experience depends on panel technology.
The overall visual experience of a smart TV doesn’t depend on resolution alone. Factors like panel technology (backlighting), brightness, and contrast ratio determine the overall picture quality of a smart TV. Either way, we’re optimistic about Lumio’s entry into the market and will closely monitor how the brand performs.
