The Hyundai Creta EV’s trial units have been spotted multiple times now. Earlier sightings revealed how the vehicle would retain the ICE Creta’s bold stance and road presence with a few tweaks in the externals and the internals. Now, the company has confirmed the launch timeline for the Creta EV, sparking a wave of enthusiasm among Creta fans.

Hyundai Creta EV Launch Confirmed In 2025

In its earnings reports, Hyundai India has confirmed that the electric version of its best-selling SUV, Creta, will hit the market by the end of March 2025. Previously, we’ve heard reports about the company starting the EV’s production by the end of this year and launching it in early 2025, which aligns with the official timeline.

Hyundai Creta EV Design: Minor Tweaks In The Exterior And Interior

Talking about the Creta EV’s design, it will resemble the ICE version that’s currently on the roads. However, the company will make some cosmetic changes to add a futuristic look and feel to the car. Based on the current spy shots, these changes could include new alloy wheels, a redesigned grille, and slightly changed bumpers.

In the past, we’ve seen one of the largest EV manufacturers in India, Tata, maintain a similar design across the ICE and electric versions of its cars, except the latter featuring more lights and slight changes in exterior/interior elements. Hyundai India could follow a similar approach to design, as it would save the cost that goes into designing a new car from scratch.

On the inside, the Creta EV could come with the iconic three-spoke steering wheel and the dual-screen infotainment system (available on Creta’s top trims). It could also retain most of the cabin features, including dual-zone climatic control, driving assistance via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, upmarket materials, and so on.

Hyundai Creta EV Expected Price

The ICE Creta’s price starts from around Rs. 11 lakh (ex-showroom, base model) and goes all the way up to Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom, top model). Although that seems a tad higher for a five-seater SUV, people are ready to pay the premium for the brand that Hyundai has created around reliability and comfort. The Creta EV should be no different, and we expect its price to start from around Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai India could also release the Creta EV with multiple battery pack options, changing the effective price the customer would have to pay. Although we don’t have any leaks or rumors about this, we speculate the Creta EV will provide around 400 kilometers of range on a single charge (and we would really appreciate it if the number is true for the base model as well).

The Company Has Confirmed Releasing Two More EV Vehicles

Hyundai India has also confirmed that it will launch three more electric vehicles in India, but when they arrive and which current vehicle they’ll be based on is unknown. There is a chance that the company could launch an electric version of the compact SUV venue and its premium hatchback, i20, but this is just our speculation.

That is the information available about the upcoming Creta EV. Even though it is about a year away from launch, enthusiasts and EV supporters have already started talking about it. And why wouldn’t they? The Creta isn’t one of Hyundai’s best-selling cars but one of the top-selling vehicles in the country. Stay tuned for more information about the Hyundai Creta EV and other news related to the automobile industry.
