As part of the June Feature Drop, Google has released some updates to the Pixel Camera app. The new Pixel Camera update, version 9.4, brings several new updates for older phones like the Pixel 6 Pro, the Pixel 7 Pro, and the Pixel Fold. The features include lens selection in the Pro mode, HDR+ for improved frame selection, and RAW/JPEG picker changes.

The first new feature, Pro Lens Selection, allows older Pixel phone users to select a lens manually: ultrawide, wide, or telephoto. Given that all the three models we mentioned earlier have three cameras, the update will provide users with more flexibility while using the Pro mode. These camera modes are located in the Pro section next to the General button.

Second, the HDR+ Improved Frame Selection improves HDR+ by shooting multiple pictures and selecting the best frame in which everyone has their eyes open and smiles. Last but not least, the RAW/JPEG settings are now located in the Pro tab. The new Camera app for Pixel phones is rolling out via the Google Play Store (v9.4.103.641377609.23).
There’s a chance that updating to this particular version won’t enable the new features, in which case, users would have to wait for some time before Google enables the features for their device.
