TL; DR
- The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe features a three-cylinder 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine that generates up to 156 HP of power and 230 Nm of torque.
- On the front, the 2025 BMW features revamped LED headlights with a sleeker look, along with diagonal DRLs and air intakes.
- Additional features include a digital key, a panoramic sunroof, rear air conditioning vents, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. It’s a bit odd that the vehicle doesn’t have ventilated front seats.
As mentioned in my Car Launches in July 2025 article, BMW has refreshed its 2 Series Gran Coupe in India. The latest generation of the entry-level BMW sedan (F74 iteration) is available solely with a turbo-petrol engine, a refreshed front fascia, enlarged alloys, chunkier tail lamps, and four color options. On the inside, the BMW gets a curved display, vegan leather upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof.

BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe: Powertrain Options

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe features a three-cylinder 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine that generates up to 156 HP of power and 230 Nm of torque. It is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. In isolation, this seems to be a pretty capable powertrain.
However, the outgoing BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe offered a four-cylinder two-liter engine (turbo-petrol) that generated 176 HP of peak power and 280 Nm of peak torque. It was also available with a 2.0-liter diesel engine that produced 190 HP of peak power and 400 Nm of peak torque.
Hence, in terms of power and torque (and the impact these figures have on the driving dynamics), the new-generation Gran Coupe is a significant downgrade from the outgoing model (whether you compare it to the petrol or the diesel offering).

BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe: Exterior And Interior Design

On the front, the 2025 BMW features revamped LED headlights with a sleeker look, along with diagonal DRLs and air intakes. The kidney-shaped grille, which was previously divided into two units, is now integrated into a single large grille (with an illuminated frame).
The side profile is dominated by 18-inch alloy wheels, the Hofmeister Kink with the number ‘2’ engraved, and fewer character lines than its predecessor. While the outgoing variant had slim tail lamps, the new model has slightly broader lamp units.
On the inside, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has a curved dual-screen setup that includes a 10.24-inch instrument cluster on the right and a larger 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment to the left (at the center of the dashboard). The latter is angled toward the driver for better visibility and accessibility.

While the sedan features a three-spoke steering wheel (with paddle shifters), sleek AC vents, and ambient lighting below them, there are a few buttons on the center console that let you change the drive modes or the roof-mounted camera, which can now capture photos or videos and send them to your smartphone.
Additional features include a digital key, a panoramic sunroof, rear air conditioning vents, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. It’s a bit odd that the vehicle doesn’t have ventilated front seats.
