If you are bored of using the same ringtone all the time and can’t seem to find a good one in the system settings, then you might want to check out some third-party apps to find the ringtone that matches your taste.
There are several of those apps available on the Google Play Store and elsewhere, making it hard to find the one with actually good ringtones. But don’t worry; we’ve got your back. In this article, we will take a look at some of the best apps (both free and paid) for notifications and ringtones on Android in 2024.
1. Zedge
Zedge is the go-to app for ringtones and notifications. It offers a massive library of ringtones, from the latest hits to the classic ones. The app also includes wallpapers and widgets, making it a one-stop shop for customization. Plus, it’s user-friendly and free to use with the inclusion of ads.
It is important to note that you may need to watch ads to download songs and ringtones to your local storage. Sure, you can pay a premium to get rid of the ads but it will cost you INR 990 for a lifetime. Also, as mentioned earlier, you can also get access to wallpapers and AI generated images with the premium plan.

2. Pi Music Player
While primarily a music player, Pi Music Player doubles as an excellent app for customizing ones ringtones. Its built-in ringtone cutter lets you create custom ringtones from your favorite tracks. Super easy to use, it lets you snip your favorite part of any song and set it as your ringtone or notification sound.
Just pick your track, trim it down, and you’re good to go. The sleek interface and equalizer settings enhance your overall music experience, making it worth downloading. There are ads in the UI but you can get rid of them for a small amount of INR 80.

3. RingWall
RingWall focuses on high-quality, unique ringtones that you won’t find anywhere else. RingWall lets you chose ringtones from various categories like Alarm, Summer, Fun, Contact, Notifications, Dynamic, Trending, and a lot more. Each category has 10 to 50 ringtones.
Although you can download ringtones for free, you might have to purchase the premium if you’d like to get rid of the ads. Unlike other apps on the list, the premium subscription is not easy on the pocket here at INR 350 per month.

4. Ringtones for Android
Ringtones for Android is a must-have if you love variety. It offers a large selection of ringtones and notification sounds across tons of categories, from modern to clasical to short notification tones. The app gets regular updates, so you get fresh ringtones daily. The app is free, but you can make in-app purchases for premium ringtones and removing the annoying ads.
5. InShot
InShot isn’t just for video editing—it’s got a good ringtone maker too. You can easily trim and edit audio files to create custom ringtones. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to mix video editing with audio tweaks.
While InShot is mostly free with some in-app purchases to remove ads and unlock extra features, the free version has everything you need for making awesome ringtones.
6. Garage Ringtones
Garage Ringtones is another app that you will love if you are into ringtones. There are several collections to choose from—pop, alarm, rock, latin, classic, and a lot more. The app allows you directly trim ringtones from within the app, eliminating the need for a different app to trim ringtones.
One annoying thing about this app is that it shows you the premium subscription screen every time you open it. Also, you need to watch a 30-second ad for every ringtone that you set.
Thankfully, you don’t have to go to the Settings app to do this; you can simply tap “Set ringtone” in the app and you’re good to go. Overall, this is a good app for ringtones if you want something that’s all-in-one or if you plan to purchase the premium.
