The new MacBook features a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR screen (with nano-texture optional) that achieves an HDR peak brightness of 1,600 nits and supports ProMotion technology (adaptive refresh rate). There’s nothing new about this display, as we’ve already seen it on the previous generation MacBook Pro.

Under the hood, the notebook features Apple’s newest M5 chip, which boasts a 10-core CPU, a 10-core GPU (with Neural Accelerators), and a 16-core Neural Engine. Together, these offer up to 20% better multithread performance, 1.6x faster graphics performance, and 3.5x faster AI processing power than the baseline M4 chip.

Additional features of the MacBook Pro include 16GB of unified memory (with 150 GB/s memory bandwidth) and 512GB of SSD storage (2x performance than the storage on the M4 MacBook Pro), 12MP Center Stage camera, six-speaker Spatial Audio system, up to 24 hours of battery life (four hours more than the predecessor), and two color options: Silver and Space Black.

M5 iPad Pro Key Specifications & Price

Apple Launches New MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and Vision Pro — All Running on the Powerful M5 Chip

The new iPad Pro, like its predecessor, comes in two screen sizes: the smaller one features an 11-inch screen, while the bigger one boasts a 13-inch screen. Both of them sport an Ultra Retina XDR Tandem OLED screen that can achieve a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and supports ProMotion technology (10-120Hz). The screen also has an anti-reflective coating to minimize distraction caused by reflections.

Under the hood, the latest iPad Pro models feature the M5 chip, but there’s a twist. While the 256GB or 512GB storage variants feature a binned version of the chip (with nine CPU cores) with 12GB of RAM, the 1TB or 2TB versions get the 10-core version with 16GB of RAM. On the back, the iPad houses a single-camera housing with a 12MP (f/1.8) camera, while the front features a landscape 12MP Center Stage camera.

On the Wi-Fi models, the iPad Pro features the N1 wireless networking chips for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth v6, while the cellular models get the Apple C1X modem, which enables support for Sub-6 GHz 5G networks. The 11-inch variant includes a 31.29 watt-hour battery, and the 13-inch variant packs in a 38.99 watt-hour battery; both of them provide up to 10 hours of video playback (on Wi-Fi).

Apple has also upgraded the Vision Pro with a new micro-OLED display that includes 10% more pixels and supports up to 120Hz refresh rates (from up to 100Hz), the M5 chip with a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU (for 50% faster native AI experiences), visionOS 26 with Apple Intelligence, and a dual-knit band for comfort and balance (it comes in three sizes).

Last but not least, the battery now lasts half an hour longer than that of the previous generation model, providing up to 2.5 hours of general use and up to three hours of video playback. However, like its predecessor, the mixed-reality headset still uses the R1 chip for real-time processing from the headset’s cameras, sensors, and microphones.
