TL; DR
  • The OnePlus 15R could debut in India (alongside a global launch) sooner than you’d think.
  • Out of the box, the smartphone could run on OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 and feature the same AI-based capabilities as the flagship version.
  • The OnePlus 15R might cost around Rs. 45,000 for the baseline model in India.

At the OnePlus 15‘s launch event, the company cleverly plugged in a teaser for another phone’s launch: the OnePlus 15R. Call it a teaser for the phone, but the company confirmed its existence. Now, an Indian tipster has predicted the launch timeline for the more affordable version of the OnePlus 15.

Update (November 19, 2025): OnePlus has confirmed the existence of the OnePlus 15R. A new microsite for the device is now live, stating that the handset is coming soon. The teaser image shows the phone in two colors (green and black) and a dual-camera setup on the back. Given that Qualcomm has officially announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip (with a release scheduled for late November), there’s a good chance the OnePlus 15R will be based on the upcoming chipset (instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite). For now, you can head to the company’s website and press the “Notify Me” button to get an alert when the phone goes official or when there’s an update regarding its launch.

OnePlus 15R Indian Launch Timeline (Expected)

According to Yogesh Brar, the OnePlus 15R could debut in India (alongside a global launch) by the middle of December. Yes, OnePlus fans will get two new phones to choose from in a span of a month or so. While details about the phone with this particular moniker are scarce, the OnePlus 15R could be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 6.

OnePlus 15R: Specifications & Key Features (Expected)

For those catching up, OnePlus unveiled the Ace 6 in China on October 27, 2025. The handset features a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED screen that supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz and peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. Under the hood, it runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, alongside 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

Out of the box, the smartphone could run on OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 and feature the same AI-based capabilities as the flagship version. Additional features of the phone include a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 16MP selfie shooter, and a 7,800 mAh battery that supports 120W wired charging, which is even larger than the one on the OnePlus 15 (7,300 mAh).

OnePlus 15R: Price (Expected)

Regarding the OnePlus 15R’s price, it could be similar to that of the OnePlus 13R. For those catching up, the phone was priced at Rs. 42,999 for the baseline variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage when it debuted in the Indian market in January 2025. If I were to speculate, the OnePlus 15R might cost around Rs. 45,000 for the baseline model.
