On May 2, 2024, Vivo India announced the launch of its new mid-range smartphone, Vivo V30e. It comes with a 120Hz AMOLED screen, features a 5G Qualcomm chip, and draws power from one of the largest batteries in the segment. Available in two color options, the V30e will be available to purchase in India under Rs. 30,000.
Vivo V30e Design
The handset ships with a punch-hole display on the front, symmetrical bezels on three sides, and a relatively thicker chin at the bottom. While all the buttons and ports are at their usual places, the rear panel houses a circular camera module with two sensors and a circular flash.
Vivo is marketing the device as the “slimmest smartphone with a 5,500 mAh battery.” According to the company, the phone measures 7.65mm thick, making it slimmer than other models with similar batteries, and it weighs just 190 grams.
The smartphone’s color options include Silk Blue and Velvet Red.

Vivo V30e: Display And Processor
Out of the box, the V30e flaunts a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is curved around the edges, giving the handset a contemporary look.
Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC (4nm), which provides substantial power and 5G connectivity. Alongside the processor, users get 8GB of LPDDR4X physical RAM and two storage options: 128/256GB (UFS 2.2).
While the phone ships with Fun Touch OS 14 (based on Android 14), Vivo has promised to provide three years of Android updates and four years of security updates.

Vivo V30e: Camera And Battery Life
The V30e’s primary camera is a 50MP (f/1.78, OIS) Sony IMX882 sensor, which, according to the company, has a 30 percent improved light sensitivity. In other words, the camera should provide better low-light performance in darker areas and better exposure control control in brightly lit environments. Users also get an 8MP (f/2.2) ultrawide shooter with a 120-degree field of view.
However, instead of a regular LED flash, Vivo has packed the V30e with a ring-style flash, or what the company likes to call a “Smart Aura Light.” With a nine-times larger claimed output area, the Smart Aura Light automatically adjusts its brightness and temperature based on the ambient light.
On the front, the smartphone offers a 50MP (f/2.45) Eye Autofocus selfie shooter with zoom-in capability. Other camera features include Color Adaptive Border, 4K video recording, ultra-stable video, and a dedicated Vlog Movie Creator mode.
Another selling point of the handset is its 5,500 mAh battery, which supports 44W charging speed via a USB-C cable. According to the company, the battery will retain its health over the course of four years.
The smartphone’s connectivity options include Bluetooth v5.1, Wi-Fi 6, Dual 4G VoLTE, 5G, and a USB-C port. Additional features include an in-display fingerprint scanner and an IP64 water and dust-resistant rating.
