Earlier this month, Sony made a global announcement about the Sony ULT Wear WH-ULT900N, offering it at a competitive price of $198. The Japanese tech giant is now gearing up to introduce this headphone in India. Sony India has listed the product on its website, indicating that it will be available soon.

The ULT900N promises an immersive listening experience, particularly for bass enthusiasts, at a price point that undercuts the flagship XM5.

The WH-ULT900N has a standout feature: the ULT button. This button enhances bass output for users who enjoy deep, powerful sound. Even without activating this feature, users can expect a well-rounded audio experience with a balanced combination of lows, mids, and highs.

Available in three sleek color options – white, gray, and black – the WH-ULT900N weighs approximately 255 grams and features a closed dynamic headphone type with a 40 mm neodymium driver unit.

Other notable features include Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) support, passive operation, an Ambient Sound Mode, and, as previously mentioned, a ULT button for instant bass boost. The headphones boast a battery life of up to 30 hours with noise cancellation turned on and up to 50 hours with it turned off. You can also fast charge the headphones – 10 minutes can give you 5 hours of music playback.

Connectivity-wise, the WH-ULT900N supports Bluetooth v5.2, offering an effective range of approximately 10 meters. It supports a range of audio formats, including SBC and AAC. Unfortunately, there is no support for LHDC or LDAC.

While the WH-ULT900N may not match the XM5 in terms of audio performance or noise cancellation, it could still be a solid option for individuals looking for bass-heavy headphones or a cheaper alternative to the XM5.
